After completing a residential family assessment, it might be decided by the courts or local authority, that a parent may require further assessment or support and a step-down placement or program be put in place.
Stepdown
‘Step-down’ is as it suggests, is a step down from the assessment progress. It is an opportunity for parents to independently demonstrate their consistent and sustained ability to continue to care for their child and themselves, with the added ‘safety net’ of support and staff’s guidance, if required.
Post Assessment & Community Support
Following on from a residential parenting assessment, it might be decided that the family can return home, but with some community support. Veritas can provide familiar faces the parents have got to know, that can provide regular visits and ongoing support, in the parents’ home.
