Our Family Centres

"Supporting parents
with a little nurturing"
From the moment you walk in the front door, we want parents to feel welcome and at ease, just like being at their own home!  The facilities are modern with everything a family needs to get off to a flying start with parenting.
Our centres are family home environments in residential areas and look like a family home. They are clean, bright and provide comfortable living accommodation in close proximity to shops, GP surgeries, hospitals, places of worship, transport links, close to the seaside and other services.

Promoting positive emotional health, through self-care and time out

All families have the right to feel safe and we ensure that parents are suitable to stay with us, before agreeing to the assessment placement. Where possible, a visit to the centre would be arranged, so you can meet the team and relay any fears of going to a strange place.

The team are friendly, welcoming, and supportive and will do their best to make you feel comfortable. They will get to know your likes and dislikes, your interests and help you to recognise what things you are good at and help you with the areas that might need a bit more work or practice on, to get better.

The whole team will be responsible to make sure you are taking care of your baby/child’s health and development with you, and your assigned keyperson will support you, listen to your worries or concerns and provide you with guidance and advice.

Comfortable facilities &
a warm welcome

Our centres, provide a modern, comfortable and homely environment with shared facilities that include a fully equipped kitchen with own fridge freezers and an allocated cupboards.  There is a  front room, dining, room, playroom, laundry room and garden with play area and seating.

The centres are family orientated with nursery themed bedrooms and generally cater for parents and their children ages 0-5 years old.

at home!”

“Enjoy time
for yourself!”

Allocated babysitting time

We recognise that everyone at times,  needs some space for themselves-some ‘time out’.  You might  want to go for a walk, look around the shops, go see a friend or go and get a haircut or nails manicured.

We will provide some allocated ‘babysitting time’ into your weekly plan.

Playgroups, activities,
& days out

We encourage our parents to make the most of the local community playgroups, children centres and facilities & weather permitting-trips out to local parks, beaches, picnics, zoos,  shopping trips and lunch’s out.

We provide parent’s activities and trips out with staff- whilst the little ones are cared for at the centre. This might be an evening at the cinema, local show,  gym session, or even a walk along the seafront with a bag of chips, all of which provides the parents with a little headspace, to encourage positive mental health.

“Parents need
some fun too!”

In-house activities

Each parent’s weekly schedule can be busy with appointments, completing the assessment sessions, parenting workshops, visits from their social worker, health visitor and family time.

Veritas recognises this and encourage parents to participate in some ‘self-care’ and fun activities such as;  ‘pamper evenings’, ‘movie & popcorn nights’, ‘games nights’, ‘arts & crafts’ and ‘My time with Veritas’ albums.

Pastural care

Whilst staying with us, all parents will have access to a friendly face and listening ear, to talk about their feelings, emotions and anxieties.

Our councillor will be available weekly to provide support to all parents to ensure their emotional health needs are supported.
